Douglas Shire Council

Completion: February 2018

Duration: 12 weeks

This project was to stabilise river banks located both to the East and West of the Mossman Waste Water Treatment Plant. Almost 13,000 tonnes of rock was carefully placed using advanced earthmoving and benching techniques. A particular challenge on this project was the very tight construction schedule due to the impending wet season – within two weeks of practical completion the Douglas Shire experienced over 500mm of rain in a single 24 hour period with no damage to the stabilised banks.
